Think you know Philip Glass? Check out his newest Sonata for violin and piano which has just been recorded by Maria Bachmann for her new disc "Glass Heart," which was just released on Orange Mountain Music (Glass's label)! The new sonata is a sweeping, dramatic work with lots of dynamic spirit and emotional breadth. Perhaps more akin to works by Schubert than Steve Reich and not as heavy on the repetition as one might expect, the new sonata is a fantastic way to introduce oneself to Glass or a great way to reinvigorate your love for his music. Check out the video of Maria Bachmann and Jon Klibonoff playing the second movement!
